it's been an age since i've had two pennies to rub together
I'm too tired to drive and a little too hungry to talk
too the first road headin' out of frisco
hit the highway and I uh started drivin' east
i aint one to complain about my misfortunes
but i ain't goin' back for another couple years at least
friend's stolen Volvo under my ass
this here highway is straight as an arrow
i'm hallucinating a cop under every overpass
i swear to God that i'm on the straight and narrow
there's nothin' like being on the run
to make this water taste so sweet.
